Supporting Siblings of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder / Apoyo a los Hermanos de Niños con Trastorno del Espectro Autista

Having a child with autism spectrum disorder can present unique challenges for family members, especially siblings. Information, services, supports, and resources are often focused on the autistic child or the parents. This webinar offers information about the experiences of elementary and middle school – aged siblings of autistic children. We also discuss strategies for supporting siblings and resources available to families, with a particular focus on a sibling support group offered at the NYU Child Study Center.

The same application process applies to both ASD Nest and Horizon Programs.

Understanding and managing difficult behaviors: a focus on children with ASD / comprender y manejar los comportamientos difíciles: un enfoque en los niños con TEA

Presenters will share theory and resources for managing difficult behaviors in children. While the presentation shares resources relative to all children, there will also be a particular focus on managing behaviors related to children with ASD. Participants will be asked to share difficult behaviors that they are encountering at home with the presenters to brainstorm effective solutions.
