WHY ANNUAL GOALS MATTER

One of the most important but least discussed IEP requirements are a student's annual goals which identify what a student is expected to learn within a year. The goals should be measureable and consistent with a student's needs and abilities. In this workshop we will help you understand why annual goals are important and what a well written goal should look like. We will also discuss SMART goals, how goals that are aligned with Common Core, and the importance of progress reports.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM: FRIENDS ARE WE!

This interactive SIX weeks after-school program will offer children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) from the ages of 4 to 13 with social skills development through the arts. The program involves the participation of students’ parents to learn skills taught and reinforce them at home and in their communities. Students will explore various visual art forms in an interactive small group setting.

A petición general, hemos movido la fecha de nuestro próximo desayuno/encuentro para el día lunes 18 de mayo de 10 a 12 del día. Tendremos la segunda parte del currículo que Johanna Santana ha elaborado para nuestro grupo. Aunque ella no estará, tendremos la posibilidad de trabar juntos en el desarrollo del tema “Lo que sabemos hoy Vs. Lo que sabíamos en aquel entonces”.
