The New York Region 1 Parent Training and Information Center (PTIC) Collaborative presents Candid Conversations: Voices From The Village.
A panel of PTIC professionals sharing their experiences navigating learning and life as parents of children with disabilities from early childhood through young adulthood.
Moderated by: Dr. Bobby Newman, Ph.D, BCBA-D, Executive Director of Clinical Services, Proud Moments ABA

Parent of almost 13 year old tweens. Her daughter is part of the ASD NEST program and her son is attending an ICT classroom in a community school. They are not eligible for OPWDD services.
 
Kpana Kpoto, Manager of Parent and Family Engagement-Early Childhood

Parent of a 4 year old daughter and 13 year old son. He attends a state-approved nonpublic school and receives OPWDD services through self-direction. She attends a preschool special education program.

Advocates for Children of New York
Parent of a 17 year old son who attends high school in an extended six year program with ICT and SETSS. He receives self direction and CDPAP services. He has a neuromuscular disability and a learning disability.
 
Jennica Velasquez-Nill, Education Advocate
Long Island Advocacy Center
Parent of a 21 year old son who has been utilizing OPWDD Self-Direction services since October 2020. He attends the  ELIJA Transitional Program and Services for children with autism.
