Tuesday April 16, 2019: Guardianship and Planning for the Future of a Child with Disabilities

Guardianship is a legal arrangement where a court gives a person the legal right to make decisions for another person who is unable to make decisions for themselves. A guardianship attorney will discuss Guardianship and special needs planning issues concerning how to meet the health, legal and financial needs of children and youth with disabilities. In addition, the OPWDD supported decision making process will be discussed.

La tutela es un acuerdo legal cuando un tribunal le da a una persona el derecho legal para tomar decisiones por otra persona que es incapaz de tomar decisiones por sí mismo. Una abogada de la tutela discutirá la tutela, las necesidades especiales y asuntos de planificaciones relativas a cómo satisfacer la salud, las necesidades legales y financieras de los niños y jóvenes con discapacidades. Además, el proceso de toma de decisiones apoyadas del OPWDD será discutido
