Reasonable Accommodation for Tenants: Housing Rights & Resources
Every New Yorker deserves fair housing.
New York City law prohibits landlords from discriminating on the basis of disability and requires most landlords to make reasonable accommodations at no expense to you.
Attending will provide a better understanding of what disability discrimination is, what is reasonable accommodation, & who qualifies for reasonable accommodation. Discover common issues within the process and what happens if a landlord does not provide it, as well as methods of enforcement.
Presenters: Suhali Méndez, Senior Advocate of New York Lawyers for the Public Interest (NYLPI), Mariam Charidwall, Housing Advocate at Sinergia, and JC Cortez, MPC Director of Training & Development
