When families visit schools, clear and respectful communication isn’t just helpful, it’s a right!
Join Sinergia for a Language Access Workshop designed to empower parents, caregivers, and education professionals of New York City Public Schools with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate language access in school settings confidently.
This workshop will help participants understand their language access rights, why those rights matter, and how to use them effectively to ensure meaningful participation in school communities. Whether you are advocating for your child, supporting families, or working directly with students and caregivers, knowing these protections can make all the difference in creating equitable and inclusive learning environments.
Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to request interpretation or translation services, how to address language barriers when they arise, and how strong language access practices support trust, participation, and student success.
Towards the end of the presentation, our facilitators will hold a dedicated Q&A segment to answer additional questions.
At the end of the workshop, we will offer a clinic to provide support for individual Language Access cases. Our team will assist you by submitting requests or answering your questions.

Cuando las familias visitan las escuelas, una comunicación clara y respetuosa no solo es útil: ¡es un derecho!
Únase a Sinergia en un Taller de Acceso Lingüístico diseñado para empoderar a padres, madres, cuidadores y profesionales de las Escuelas Públicas de la Ciudad de Nueva York con el conocimiento y las herramientas necesarias para desenvolverse con confianza en el acceso lingüístico dentro de los entornos escolares.
Este taller ayudará a las personas participantes a comprender cuáles son sus derechos de acceso lingüístico, por qué estos derechos son importantes y cómo utilizarlos de manera efectiva para garantizar una participación significativa en las comunidades escolares. Ya sea que esté abogando por su hijo o hija, apoyando a familias, o trabajando directamente con estudiantes y cuidadores, conocer estas protecciones puede marcar una gran diferencia en la creación de entornos de aprendizaje equitativos e inclusivos.
Las y los participantes se llevarán una comprensión más clara de cómo solicitar servicios de interpretación o traducción, cómo abordar las barreras lingüísticas cuando surgen y cómo las prácticas sólidas de acceso lingüístico fomentan la confianza, la participación y el éxito estudiantil.
Hacia el final de la presentación, nuestras personas facilitadoras llevarán a cabo un segmento dedicado de preguntas y respuestas para atender consultas adicionales.
Al finalizar el taller, ofreceremos una clínica de atención para casos individuales de Acceso Lingüístico. Nuestro equipo brindará apoyo ayudando a realizar solicitudes o respondiendo sus preguntas.
